Earthquake But Not Awake

How is it that my twin girls could sleep during a 5.0 earthquake that lasted about 15 seconds but wakes up and cries as if the earth has ended when they here a creak as I walk up the stairs?

I write this very small post with my eyes half asleep as I have not had a good night sleep in 2 days because one of my girls keeps waking up with a scream.

My 100th Post

The Tough First Day Back

I must say with not a great deal of sleep, my first day back at work was a hard one and it was the busiest day of the week but all I wanted to do was put my head on my keyboard and snooze the day away.

The Diet Starts Tomorrow (Again)

After a total week of gluttony, consuming every fast food there is and topping it off by a full on pub meal to celebrate my wife and sister’s birthday and I'm sure by putting half a stone on in the process, I will be on the for mentioned diet for the next 6 weeks (If the will is there).

We Have Sacked The Estate Agent

Yes, one viewer in 12 weeks has caused us to look else where but we have to give 28 days notice but we have already found a new suitor for our cause so let’s hope they do a better job.

Why I Didn’t Post Yesterday

I fell asleep at 8pm on the couch, I woke up at 12am and then went to bed so my brain didn’t work yesterday night.

Happy Birthday Chuck

It was my wife’s birthday today, we had a quiet day and just took a ride into town for a couple of hours but we are going shopping tomorrow so she can spend her hard unearned birthday cash.

It Hurts !!!!

Yep, I was right, with 4 hours sleep under my belt last night, I woke up this morning aching like I had bench pressed a 3 ton elephant for 3 hours.

The Week Off The Wagon

I have a week off work, it is my wife’s birthday this week as well as my mother in laws and my sisters, there is going to be cake, meals out and a Sunday lunch so I am going to gently step off the wagon and climb back on next Monday (I promise).

My Full On Workout

I helped clear out my parent’s attic today (Hello Mum), it feels like I have done about 4 hours workout in the gym, the first proper exercise I have done in ages so I think I will ache in the morning.

28 Days Later It Aint

I got round to watching 28 weeks later tonight, lots of gore but it got let down because you didn’t connect with the characters or cared if they lived or died so for me an average sequel to a good, original horror flick.

A Peek Of Spring

Today was so cool, it was hot enough to go out for a walk so we went to the next town along and we all walked along the river with no buggy and even sat and has a coffee, it was the our girls first taste of freedom and they loved it.

Time For Some Time Off

Ah, I love it when you come to the end of your working day and you know that you don’t have to go back for a whole week, I have that feeling now and its good…

Bang! And The Day Is Gone!

Today was like a blur, I got into work and I was so busy that when I looked at the time, I only had an hour left but most of my day was filled with sorting out other stuff that I don’t usually deal with so I still have all of my other work to do, oh well, one more day then a week off :)

Where’s The Karma In That?

I did some exercises yesterday, sit ups and press ups, that kind of thing, I felt really good but I woke up this morning with a cricked neck and I can’t look to my left too well so how typical is that?

A Few Hours To Myself

I was on lates today at work and my wife and kids had gone to visit grandma so what did I do with my 3 hours of free time you ask, watch a movie, chill out, sleep, no I went upstairs straight on the computer did stuff until it was time to go to work, sometimes I am a very sad person!

The Weight Is Over

weighed myself today after a miserable week last week because of my minor faux paus with a pizza but I am back on track now, I have lost 4 pounds this week making it a total of 17 and ¼ pounds :)

Sense Of Accomplishment

I will say it loud and proud, I am a Buffy fan and I have just finished watching the final episode of the final season with my wife and I have watched every episode (apart from one episode in season two called Ted which neither of us like) but it has taken us about a year to watch them through on and off so I’m thinking another year or so and we will probably start from season one again (cant wait).

This Is The Weekend That It Is Going To Happen

We will get a view tomorrow and by Sunday we will have an offer for our house even if I have to knock on everyone’s door in the local area to do so.

Walking Is The New Black

I took a walk today at lunch with a couple of chaps from work, we must have walked about 4 miles, it was good to get out the office and talk to people at work about non work stuff.

Take My House Please

It looks like the only people that don’t want to sell our house is our estate agent, we had had another agent call up today with a guaranteed viewer, even other companies along the chain of purchase want to help sell our house so lets sell already and we can get on living the life in palatial style.

Traffic Jam

It usually takes me 35 to 40 minutes to get home from work, today it took me 1 hour and 30 minutes and that was on my rush hour short cut.

I Learn My Life Lessons from the last 5 Minutes Of Scrubs

I am Gutted because the writers strike has but back the new series of Scrubs to I don’t know when, if will even come back at all so I say to the film corporations and the writers settle on something already!

I Wobbled, Then Fell Off The Wagon !

Yes the pizza is calling, much louder than before and if I ignore it for too much longer it’s gonna make me deaf so why fight it, the diet continues after this short intermission.

Tea Party Etiquette

The girls and I had a pretend tea party today, I showed them how to pour the tea, milk and sugar (to get them ready for them to make me cups of tea in the future), twin 1 kept drinking out of the teapot though, very uncouth.

Teething Hell

Well we had about 3 weeks of piece and quiet at night but it looks like the girls have started teething with their large back teeth so we are going to have some long nights starting with tonight by the sound of things :(

The Lightning Week

I am on the late shift this week and I have been a busy chap at work which has made the week wiz by, the only thing is I wish I was being busy doing the things I want to do instead of my boss (damn work)!

Happy 200th

I thought that I should celebrate the fact that I have just reached my 200th hit for my blog so I would like to thank me for doing the blog in the first place and I would like to thank anybody that took the time to visit my little piece of the internet, next milestone 1000 (and why not)!

14 Down 28 To Go

I have lost a total of 14 pounds (that’s a stone in British money :) so far and I am quite pleased with myself, the only thing is my wife’s birthday is in February which means a few days of naughty food but hey if I lose a total of 42 pounds (3 stone) by the middle of this year and keep it off for the rest of the year I will be happy.

Southland Tales Any Good?

I am quite keen on watching the film Southland Tales as I saw the preview a while back and it looked quite good and I know that the Rock is in it which should turn it into lame film but the Gellar is in it and that always gets my interests a bit so I shall wait for it to go to DVD.

Hello Parental Units

I Told My Mum and Dad about my blog today when we all went around theirs to visit so hello Mum, hello Dad & hello Jess (the dog).

The Search Is Over

Yes today we found our very own palace to live in for the rest of our lives (or until the kids leave home) and WOW I mean our hearts will defiantly rule our heads on this one and we will have to live on bread and water for a while (10 years or so) but it will be worth it so we need to sell our house STAT!

I got in touch with one of my best mates at school on facebook today and it has been over 16 years since I last saw him so I guess the social networking sites are good for something.

The Geek Connection

On any day I could be dealing with circular references, hash tables, stored procedures, dodgy C# code, a dozen different environments at different code levels, web services, message queues and around six different coding languages so at the end of that list (if you didn’t get bored half way through) isn’t it a wonder I have the geek gene but at least my wife still loves me even if she doesn’t understand me some of the time.

My New Remote Control

I am a geek through and through and when I saw this remote control, which is the newest version of the one I have had for 4 years, I had to have it, I mean look how sparkly it is…..

Our First Viewers

We had our first house viewers today finally and it went very smoothly the house looked spotless and we both sold it to them very well, I should have been an estate agent lol.

The Weigh-In

I have lost 10 Pounds so far, my clothes feel a little lest skin tight but I have a long way to go, about another 30 pounds before I will be a happy thinner me.

My Stressless Day In The Office

Monday and the boss was off sick which automatically means a lighter atmosphere in the office so we chatted, had a laugh and finished what we needed to do even if it was our busiest day so would it be bad of me to say I wish he was ill at least once, no twice a week?

My New Trainers

I got bought some Airwalk trainers today, they were an absolute bargain, so cheap in fact, I am going to lie if anyone asks how much they were but hey they look good and I can rekindle my skater days (not the skating part just the foot ware).

No More Bad Hair Days

I got bored with my hair today so I shaved it all off but my wife thinks my head looks too small for my body.

How To Ruin A Perfectly Good Steak

My diet has recipes and one of them I followed tonight was to marinade a sirloin steak in lemon juice and garlic then cook with a natural yoghurt, onion and mushroom sauce, sounds good but I say now people don’t do it because this nice piece of steak tasted like I was chewing on a raw lemon I mean do they even taste these recipes before they publish them?

The Sneaky Mid Week Weigh-In

I had to weigh myself even though official weigh-in is on a Monday morning, I have lost 9 pounds so far, yay for me, I have been having thoughts of the dreaded junk food of late so I just need to just think about how guilty I would be if I pigged out but damn pizza tastes sooooo good !!!!

The Wonders Of A Good Nights Sleep

So I got to work in a much chilled out mood today, I had a chat with my boss about stuff and things came into perspective, I got a pay rise, there is at least a 5 year plan at work and so a little security for the future of my family, it is amazing how a few more hours snoozing can change a man’s thoughts.

The Sleep Takers

I spent the whole day at work in a mood with my headphones today listening to music, I think that I said four sentences all day for two reasons, one that I am still hacked off with my boss because of yesterday and two and more importantly I spent the night on the couch with twin 1 on the floor next to me because she wouldn’t sleep so 5 hours of sleep for me and the major hump all day.

Sometimes Work Sucks

It should have been a good day today, I got my letter saying I have got a pay rise, there is a 5 year plan for the company so my job is relatively safe but when someone at works makes you feel like a dick professionally then none of the other stuff matters, I’m sure I will feel differently tomorrow.

House Update

Our house has been up for sale for 6 weeks and we have not had one viewer so my wife wrote a snotty email to the estate agent today as it wasn’t even advertised in the local paper, see what you get when you cross my wife on a mission to move to her larger home….

Better News

My brother in law came out of hospital yesterday, he is having continuous treatment for his blood clots, but he is better than he was and my sister is relieved that he is home.

The Price Of A Healthy Diet

I went to the supermarket to pick up everything for next week’s diet which included fresh fruit, vegetables, meat and other cupboard stuff, total price for 1 week £132, eat processed crap get fat, get thin get skint :)

My Clever Girls

I can not get over how clever my daughters are getting (although I am bias), they have started communicating to each other (mostly in some sort of baby twin language) and generally getting on plus they point to stuff and say new words every day so I couldn’t be a prouder father.

Post Christmas Work Boredom

Its dead, very little to do and I am bored, I have gone through all of my RSS feeds, gone though digg, listened to some music, aimlessly surfed all day and that is it, I am all Webbed out, maybe if I draw eyes on my eyelids, I can get away with an hours sleep in before I go home.

90’s American TV, My Staple

I was flicking through the TV channels today and on Sci-Fi I came across Quantum Leap and I was instantly taken back to when I used to watch it was I was a young chap, it was a bit cheesy now but back then I loved and I used to watch it every week without fail.

What They Don’t Tell You

I am doing the right thing on this diet and although I am only on day 2, I am doing well and drinking lots of water but it is going through me as quick as it’s going in so is it doing me any good drinking all this?

My Yesterday

Back to work, average day, diet went well but I had a very bad head all day which I still have now a bit so when I got home, I had my baked veggies with chick peas and feta (quite nice) and I played with the girls for a while, put them to bed and at about 8:30PM with still a bad head, I went to bed myself and I have come to the conclusion that too much or too little sleep doesn’t matter, I still wake up tired, I am hoping that this diet will pep me up.

Bad News On A Happy Day

Well the start of the new year was marred today by the news that my brother in law has been admitted to hospital with a blood clot in his leg, he is also been having breathing problems for a while, he wasn’t him self when they came over a couple of days ago so I hope for the best and give my sister, niece and nephew all the support I can.
